English ГІТАНАС НАУСЄДА ПРЕЗИДЕНТ ЛИТОВСЬКОЇ РЕСПУБЛІКИ GITANAS NAUSĖDA PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA
Гітанас Наусєда (литовс. Gitanas Nausėda; нар. 19 травня 1964 року) – литовський державний діяч, 6-й Президент Литовської Республіки (з 12 липня 2019 р.).
З першого дня російського повномасштабного вторгнення в Україну рішуче виступив на захист незалежності, суверенітету і територіальної цілісності України в її міжнародно визнаних кордонах, активно долучившись до зусиль, спрямованих на консолідацію міжнародної підтримки нашої Держави (у тому числі у рамках Європейського Союзу і НАТО) у протидії агресії, насамперед, шляхом невідкладного надання військової, фінансової, економічної та гуманітарної допомоги.
Загалом, з початку російської агресії Литва як держава надала Україні лише військової допомоги для потреб Збройних Сил України на суму близько 120 млн. євро.
Г.Наусєда провів дев’ять телефонних розмов з Президентом України В.О.Зеленським, ставши одним з перших глав держав, хто, незважаючи на небезпеку, відвідав м. Київ 13 квітня з робочим візитом разом з президентами Польщі, Естонії і Латвії. У рамках візиту, високі гості відвідали також смт. Бородянка Київської області.
«Литва надала Україні зброю для оснащення підрозділу розміром з бригаду та відповідні боєприпаси. Військова підтримка допоможе героїчному українському народу боротися за свою свободу та суверенітет. Литва буде з вами до кінця – разом до Перемоги», – заявив Г.Наусєда на спільній з Президентом України та главами естонської, латвійської і польської держав прес-конференції у Києві.
Згодом, 28 липня Г.Наусєда відвідав Україну з окремим робочим візитом, у рамках якого він відвідав м. Ірпінь, провів у м. Київ зустріч з українським Лідером та звернувся з промовою до Верховної Ради України.
Зокрема, звертаючись до ВРУ, Г.Наусєда наголосив на такому: «Ми надто багато страждали разом і зазнали надто багато несправедливості, щоб бути байдужими до страждань одне одного. Тому сьогодні Литва підтримує Україну всіма можливими засобами, надає і надаватиме військову, гуманітарну та фінансову допомогу аж до перемоги».
Відіграв особисту важливу роль в ухваленні Європейською радою 23 червня історичного рішення про надання Україні статусу країни-кандидата на членство в Європейському Союзі. Одразу після ухвалення зазначеного рішення Г.Наусєда написав у Твіттері: «Це велика перемога як для України так і для Європейського Союзу. Дуже важливе та вчасне рішення. Литва підтримуватиме Україну на шляху до членства в ЄС».
З самого початку підтримавши ідею про створення Міжнародної Кримської платформи (МКП), Г.Наусєда взяв участь в Інавгураційному саміті МКП (23 серпня 2021 р., м. Київ) та другому Саміті МКП (23 серпня 2022 року у дистанційному форматі). Виступаючи на цьогорічному заході МКП Г.Наусєда заявив, серед іншого, таке: «Міжнародна Кримська платформа має надзвичайно важливе значення. Вона потрібна для того, щоб тримати нашу увагу прикутою до Криму – місця, де 8 років тому розпочалася російська агресія. То ж саме Крим має стати тим місцем, де ця безглузда війна закінчиться».
11 червня у м. Вільнюс відбулась офіційна церемонія відкриття «Українського центру», створеного під патронатом Першої Леді Литви Діани Наусєдєнє та Першої Леді України Олени Зеленської на базі педагогічної академії Університету Вітовта Великого. «Український центр» став першою подібною установою, відкритою в державах-членах ЄС. Загалом, Литва прийняла на своїй території понад 66 тис. тимчасово переміщених з України осіб.
Примітно, що свій виступ на 77-й сесії Генеральної Асамблеї ООН (20 вересня 2022 р.) Президент Литви присвятив виключно Україні. Зокрема, він наголосив на такому: «Ця війна має закінчитися. Але не миром за будь-яку ціну. Територіальна цілісність України має бути повністю відновлена. Інакше це означатиме подальші звірства та тривалу відсутність безпеки».
Gitanas Nausėda (born on May 19, 1964) – Lithuanian politician, the 6th President of the Republic of Lithuania (from July 12th, 2019).
Since the first day of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he resolutely stood up for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, actively contributing to the consolidation of international support for our state (inter alia, within the European Union and NATO) to counter aggression, primarily by providing immediate military, financial, economic and humanitarian aid
Overall, since the beginning of the Russian aggression, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with military assistance for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounting to approximately 120 million euros.
Gitanas Nausėda had nine phone calls with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and was one of the first heads of state who, notwithstanding the danger, visited Kyiv on April 13th with a working visit together with the presidents of Poland, Estonia, and Latvia. Within the framework of the visit, the high guests also visited Borodyanka, Kyiv region.
‘’Lithuania has provided Ukraine with weapons to equip a brigade-sized unit and with relevant ammunition. Military assistance will help the heroic Ukrainian people to fight for their freedom and sovereignty. Lithuania stands with you all the way – together until Victory’’, Gitanas Nausėda stated at a joint press conference in Kyiv with the President of Ukraine and Presidents of Estonia, Latvia and Poland.
On July 28, Gitanas Nausėda paid a working visit to Ukraine, during which he visited Irpin, had a meeting with the Ukrainian leader in Kyiv and addressed the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Addressing the Ukrainian Parliament, Gitanas Nausėda emphasized: «We have been through too much together and endured too many injustices to watch each other’s suffering with indifference. Therefore, today Lithuania supports Ukraine with all possible means, providing – now and until victory – military, humanitarian and financial assistance».
He played a critical role in adopting the historic decision by the European Council on June 23 on granting Ukraine the candidate status to the EU. Right after the adoption of this decision Gitanas Nausėda tweeted: “Big victory for Ukraine and the European Union! Very important and timely decision. Lithuania will support Ukraine on its way forward to the EU membership”.
From the outset supporting the idea of creating the International Crimea Platform, Gitanas Nausėda took part in the Inaugural Summit of the Crimea Platform (August 23rd, 2021, Kyiv) and the Second Crimea Platform Summit (August 23rd, 2022, in a remote format). In his speech at the Summit this year, Gitanas Nausėda stated, inter alia, the following: “The International Crimea Platform has great importance. It is to keep our attention focused on Crimea – a place where the Russian aggression started 8 years ago. Crimea must therefore also become that place where this senseless war ends”.
On June 11th, the official opening ceremony of the Ukrainian Center under the patronage of the First Lady of Lithuania Diana Nausėdienė and the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska on the basis of the Pedagogical Academy of Vytautas Magnus University, took place in Vilnius. The Ukrainian Center became the first such facility opened in the EU Member States. In total, Lithuania hosted more than 66,000 temporarily displaced persons from Ukraine.
Noteworthy, the President of Lithuania dedicated his speech at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (September 20th, 2022) solely to Ukraine. Particularly, he emphasized the following: ” This war must end. But not in peace at any cost. The Ukrainian territorial integrity must be fully restored. Any other outcome would mean further atrocities and long-standing insecurity “.
